Elysium is Canberra’s leading provider of pre & post-natal Pilates.

Pregnancy is an exciting yet challenging time in a woman’s life, with your body undergoing significant changes. At Elysium Studio Pilates, we offer specialised classes to help you adapt and prepare for the delivery of your baby, Fit2 Delivery and Baby + You.

Our Prenatal Pilates classes, “Fit2Deliver,” are designed to be low impact and intensity, reducing stress on your joints and adaptable to your changing needs during pregnancy. Using a variety of Pilates equipment, props, and light weights, these classes will help keep you comfortable while challenging your body.

After your baby arrives, the postnatal period can be full of sleepless nights, busy days, and an emotional roller coaster. Our Postnatal Baby + You circuit focuses on improving and maintaining a strong and flexible body, preparing you to return to your pre-pregnancy sports and activities.

Elysium Studio Pilates also offers reformer and group circuit classes to complement our specialised pre and post-natal sessions. Many of our clients have attended these classes right up to 40 weeks, helping them stay strong and prepared for birth.

Q When should I start considering pre-natal Pilates during my pregnancy?

You can begin our Fit2Deliver prenatal Pilates classes at any stage of your pregnancy. In addition to our specialised prenatal classes, you are welcome to participate in our reformer and group circuit classes, which can be adapted to accommodate your pregnancy needs.

Q I have had my baby, when can I start pilates?

For your comfort and safety, we recommend starting Baby + You classes around 8 weeks postpartum if you have had a natural birth without any complications. These classes will help you regain overall muscle tone and strength, address abdominal muscle separation issues, and improve pelvic floor function and core stability. Classes are run in a circuit format with each participant rotating through a variety of exercises, with modifications available as needed. If you had a caesarean, we suggest waiting until after you receive clearance from your doctor.

Q Can I bring my baby?

It wouldn’t be the same if you didn’t’. There is plenty of space for a pram or a carrier and you can also bring a blanket and toys if you would prefer. Once your baby gets more mobile we would prefer they not attend due to the risk with moving springs and little fingers. Of course, Elyse is always more than happy to provide cuddles for them during class.

Q Where are you located?

Elysium Studio Pilates is located in the Weston Arcade with entry both from Brierly Street and Commons Court. For an easy frame of reference we are just down from Pet Barn.

Q Is there parking close by?

There is plenty of free parking at Coleman Court, however the best parking for the Studio is in Commons Court.
